Killarney town is located at the heart of County Kerry, the ‘Kingdom’, and it is the most popular base for exploring the surrounding areas including the Ring of Kerry. Our journey starts in this colourful town abundant in horse drawn carts and takes you through trails within the National Park and onwards to ‘Ross Island’, a peninsula and the site of one of Europe’s most important Bronze Age Copper Mines (2400 BC), and a treasure chest of native wild flora, lake and mountain scenery.

During this tour of 6.5km your local tour guide will bring to you the seanchaí storytelling tradition by recounting at each stop the history of the area and the legends and tales surrounding the imposing Lough Lein (Upper lake), and Ross Castle.
